- Wine, Dine and Design- March The event is sponsored by the Friends of John A Wilkinson Center as a fundraiser. Hostesses “buy”, decorate and “set” their tables and invite their guests to join them for this awesome event. The morning begins with a wine social with table viewing and voting. A wonderful lunch is served and guests are treated to an afternoon of entertainment, dessert, and bidding on the wonderful items in the Silent Auction.Sponsorships are available for this sold out event, and tables go on sale mid January. - Pirates on the Pungo Sailing Regatta- The weekend before Memorial Day
Pirates on the Pungo Regatta is a non profit 501 (3) C corporation that currently raises money to benefit local charities and activities in the Belhaven area. As many as 30 boats ranging from large keelboats to multiple dinghy classes participated in our last regatta. In our 17th year, the POTP Regatta has become a regatta not to be missed on the east coast! The regatta has become a popular event for sailors and landlubbers alike. July 4th Celebration:
The longest continuous celebration in the country! 78 years!! If you are looking for a real Americana parade, this is it! You will see everything from decorated firetrucks, golf carts, bicycles, tractors, antique cars, 18 wheelers and MUCH more! - Intracoastal Waterway Celebration: The third Saturday in September. This signature event is held each year to celebrate the opening of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in September of 1928 at the River Forest Manor in Belhaven. The feature event is the Chowder Downeast tasting. Many different types of chowders are created and served by local citizens and businesses. You won’t leave hungry! Other events include the 1920’s fashion show, vendors, antique cars and boats.
- Christmas Celebration: Second Saturday in December the Town of Belhaven comes alive with Christmas. There is a kid’s village where children can sit on Santa’s lap, write letters to Santa and make Christmas crafts. The parade is always fun. The day finsihes off with the Candlelight Tour of Homes.
